Alex Reinert is an international trade associate in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Alex assists clients with navigating complex legal regimes governing the international trade of goods, services, technology, and cross-border investment.
Alex represents clients in matters involving economic and trade sanctions administered by the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and export controls administered by the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC). Alex also advises clients on reviews conducted by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
During law school, Alex interned in the Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, where he worked on regulatory and administrative law matters related to national security. Prior to law school, Alex interned for the U.S. House of Representatives in the office of a member of congressional leadership.
