LONDON, May 14, 2026 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology, and life sciences law firm, represented TAE Technologies, Inc. (TAE) in its joint venture with the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) to commercialize TAE’s proprietary particle accelerator technology.

The joint venture, TAE Beam (UK), will focus on developing neutral beam technology for fusion energy and expand into medical and industrial applications. The venture aims to design, develop, and ultimately manufacture and service neutral beams for a wide range of fusion approaches, as well as adapt the accelerator technology for state-of-the-art cancer therapeutics, and other applications like food safety. 

Backed by an equity investment from UKAEA, the joint venture will be headquartered at UKAEA’s Culham Campus in Oxfordshire, UK and aims to establish a global supply chain for advanced fusion and accelerator technologies.

A cross-border Baker Botts team acted as international legal counsel to TAE on all aspects of the transaction, including corporate, regulatory and trade, intellectual property, construction and finance matters.
