Zahra Knapper Al-Bahrani is a partner in the firm’s Global Corporate (Finance) Practice in Dubai.

Zahra is an experienced aviation finance lawyer who has advised major industry players including banks, funds, export credit agencies, airlines and leasing companies on a wide range of complex international financing, leasing and M&A transactions.

Zahra has broad experience in asset financing transactions including export credit agency-backed financing, aircraft-based capital markets, portfolio acquisitions and restructuring transactions.

  • Lesha Bank LLC (Public) on the creation of a Sharia-compliant leasing platform and the purchase and financing of numerous aircraft across multiple jurisdictions.
  • U.S. operating lessor in connection with numerous operating leases to airlines across Europe, Middle East and Asia.
  • Multiple leading European airlines and international operating lessors on various novations, financings and leasing arrangements.

  • Lenders (including both banks and ECAs) in connection with various loan prepayments, refinancings, aircraft subleasings and novations in multiple jurisdictions including Morocco, the United Arab Emirates and India.
  • European ECAs in connection with the US$300 million ECA-supported bond to a Malaysian airline.
