Overview

Wyatt Carlock is an Associate in Baker Botts’ Antitrust and Competition practice in Washington, D.C. He partners with clients on a range of antitrust matters, including complex litigation, mergers before the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice, government investigations, and counseling.

Wyatt has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in complex class action and private party cases involving all aspects of competition law and is skilled in handling all aspects of antitrust disputes.

With respect to mergers and acquisitions, Wyatt advises both public and private entities across a wide range of industries, including entertainment, telecommunications, technology, and healthcare and life science industries, on various aspects of antitrust law, encompassing risk analyses of transactions, pre-merger notification clearance under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act (HSR), regulatory compliance counseling, international filings and investigations, and Second Request investigations before the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice.

  • Representing UnitedHealth Group in its successful acquisition of Amedisys, a US$3.3 billion transaction recognized by Global Competition Review in 2026 as the "Merger Control Matter of the Year (Americas)."
  • Representing Liberty Media in connection with its successful acquisition of MotoGP, a transaction that was nominated by Global Competition Review in 2026 as the "Merger Control Matter of the Year (Europe)."
  • Representing a global sports league in investigations by DOJ, a State Attorney General, and Congress related to membership in the league.
  • Representing Liberty Latin America in acquisition of EchoStar's (SATS) spectrum assets in Puerto Rico and the USVI as well as approximately 85,000 pre-paid mobile subscribers.
  • Representing a major healthcare company in connection with an investigation by the FTC and numerous state attorneys general of a multi-billion-dollar acquisition of a provider of home health and hospice services in 37 states. The transaction closed with no relief sought following full compliance with the FTC's Second Request.
  • Representing Celanese in its $11 billion acquisition of DuPont's nylon business, securing EU approval (with a divestment remedy) and merger approvals in multiple jurisdictions worldwide.
  • Representing private equity firm in the sale of an industrial product portfolio company, including Second Request compliance and subsequent merger litigation.
  • In re: Pork Antitrust Litigation – Representing major grocer and food services provider asserting antitrust claims in multi-district litigation against major U.S. pork producers.
  • In re: Cattle and Beef Antitrust Litigation – Representing major grocer and food services provider asserting antitrust claims in multi-district litigation against major U.S. beef producers.
  • In re Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) Antitrust Litigation – Representing multinational corporation in all aspects of opt-out and class action cases alleging price fixing claims under the Sherman Act and state competition-related laws.
