Baker Botts Advises CubicPV in Patent Licensing Agreement With First Solar

HOUSTON, October 30, 2026 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology, and life sciences law firm, advised CubicPV Inc. in a non-exclusive U.S. patent licensing agreement with First Solar, Inc.
The agreement gives First Solar access to CubicPV’s issued and pending U.S. patents covering perovskite solar technology. It enables First Solar to continue developing perovskite photovoltaic devices for the U.S. utility-scale, commercial and industrial, and residential markets.
CubicPV has spent more than a decade developing, testing and fielding perovskite technology and building a substantial portfolio of foundational patents and intellectual property. The licensed portfolio supports the commercialization of perovskite and tandem solar technologies.
