Baker Botts Represents UnitedHealth Group in Acquisition of Alegeus Technologies
WASHINGTON, D.C., July 8, 2026 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology, and life sciences law firm, represented UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) in the antitrust review of Optum Financial's acquisition of Alegeus Technologies.
Optum Financial, the financial services business within UnitedHealth Group's Optum subsidiary, closed the acquisition July 2, 2026. Alegeus provides benefits administration for consumer-directed healthcare accounts, including health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, health reimbursement arrangements, and COBRA continuation coverage.
Baker Botts guided UnitedHealth Group through the Hart-Scott-Rodino filing and review process before the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission, allowing the deal to close.
