BRUSSELS, April 13, 2023 – Baker Botts, L.L.P., a leading international law firm, is proud to be a Founding Sponsor of the EU Lawyers for Ukraine Charity Concert supporting medical, educational and children's projects in Ukraine.

The concert, which will be held on Thursday 4 May at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, presents an opportunity to hear world-renowned Ukrainian pianist Dmytro Sukhovienko perform Frédéric Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1, accompanied by the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra. Catriona Hatton, Partner-in-Charge of the Brussels office and Firmwide Chair - Antitrust & Competition Law, helped to launch the initiative and has identified three specific projects that will be supported directly as a result of this initiative.

“The concert will reflect the Brussels and wider European legal community’s support for our Ukrainian friends. All proceeds will fund educational and medical projects in Ukraine and help those whose lives are being destroyed by war. I am thrilled by the support and momentum this concert has received,” said Catriona.

The projects that will be supported directly as a result of this initiative:

1. UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center: A medical hub in the city of Lviv providing medical care, physical and psychological rehabilitation to those injured in the war. Since the outbreak of the war, Lviv has become a major humanitarian hub where those fleeing war can find refuge and medical treatment. The UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center is a unique place where adults and children affected by the war can receive comprehensive qualified medical care. The funds will be used to purchase medical equipment.
   
   
2. Dobrodiy: A charity that helps children in need with educational and psychological support. Given the ongoing war, mental health support is now a major concern. The funds will be used to co-finance the establishment of the first psychological support center for children in Kyiv to cope with trauma and overcome the stress caused by war, through art therapy, creative, and other activities.
   
   
3. "Hospitallers": A volunteer organization of paramedics founded in 2014. Its members are doctors and people of various professions who volunteered to join the first aid squad and deliver life-saving support to all in need. Currently, 360 paramedics provide medical help and evacuate injured people to hospitals, saving lives in the most dangerous areas in Ukraine. The funds will be used to help with the purchase of ambulances and the medical equipment/supplies needed for those ambulances.
