HOUSTON, TX, December 10, 2024 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology, and life sciences law firm, has been awarded the prestigious 2024 Koch Pro Bono Service Award in recognition of its outstanding dedication to pro bono work and its commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities in need.

The Koch Pro Bono Service Award is presented annually to a new recipient who demonstrates exceptional passion and dedication to advancing pro bono efforts. Nominated and voted on internally by Koch, Inc., employees, the award highlights the critical role that law firms play in supporting Koch’s pro bono initiative, which encourages employees to make a positive difference through volunteer efforts.

Earlier this year Baker Botts, in partnership with the Koch Legal Pro Bono Initiative and the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles, hosted a two-day driver’s license reinstatement and renewal clinic to assist community members regain a critical document needed to fully participate in society. Nearly 300 people showed up to the event and more than half of them were then able to meet with OMV representatives. By day’s end, 59 people received new licenses and 90 people received counseling to navigate towards license reinstatement. Baker Botts Special Counsel David LaCerte and Associate Teresa Jones played an integral role in making this event such a success.
