Rebecca Seidl-Inglesby is a partner in the Corporate Department of the Houston office and leads the firm's Critical Minerals and Metals Subsector. Ms. Seidl is a highly regarded M&A and projects lawyer in the energy and mining industries. Her clients span a broad range of industries including energy, mining, chemical, industrials and infrastructure investment vehicles. Her global transactional practice focuses on stock acquisitions and divestitures, mergers, strategic joint ventures, as well as advising clients on energy and mining project development investments.
Prior to joining Baker Botts, Ms. Seidl was a corporate M&A and Global Energy partner at an international law firm. Her representative matters include representing one of the world’s largest steel producers in a strategic joint venture in a state-of-the art HBI plant and an OEM in an equity investment and long-term offtake agreement in a lithium mining operation.
Ms. Seidl previously served as senior in-house counsel at BHP, the world's largest mining, metals and petroleum company, overseeing and advising various business units including Exploration, Projects, Commercial and Business Development. During her tenure at BHP, she was based in Santiago, Chile supporting the company's major mining development projects and joint ventures in Chile, Peru and the U.S. including advising critical infrastructure projects for mining and desalination valued at USD 2.5 billion.
Ms. Seidl's cross-border energy practice and track record on major transactions in Latin America has been recognized by Latinvex annually as one of "Latin America's Top 100 Female Lawyers" (2019-2024).
