In the rapidly evolving world of privacy and cybersecurity, Michelle helps clients find the practical balance of business and risk. Her practice focuses on proactive privacy and security counseling, incident preparation, and incident response in order to keep clients ahead of the curve and focused on their future.

Michelle works closely with engineers, security professionals, business executives, and in-house teams to help clients meet their legal obligations under state, federal, and international frameworks without slowing down their business objectives. As part of her counseling practice, she builds strategic internal privacy and security programs supported by tailored policies and procedures, incident response plans, decision making aids, and tabletop exercises.

In the event of a data breach, Michelle thoughtfully guides clients through effective crisis management, including how to navigate forensic analysis, threat actor negotiations, stakeholder communications, notice obligations, and potential claims and defenses. She also represents clients in privacy- and security-related civil litigation and government investigations.

Michelle is a Certified Information Privacy Professional in United States privacy law (CIPP/US). She gained critical experience prior to joining the firm by serving in the Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property Unit (CHIP) at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California; the Department of Justice's Office of International Affairs (OIA) in Washington, D.C.; and the U.S. Embassy in Vilnius, Lithuania.
