Overview

Jaya Malhotra is a Senior Associate in the Corporate practice based in Singapore. She advises clients on complex commercial and regulatory matters in the digital infrastructure sector across Asia, including Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Japan, Hong Kong, and Korea. Her work includes subsea cable systems and terrestrial fiber networks, including joint build and supply agreements, master services agreements, and IRU arrangements for dark and lit fiber network deployments.

Jaya also advises data center operators and colocation providers on telecommunications regulatory frameworks, including licensing and ongoing compliance for connectivity services. Her experience further extends to privacy and data governance issues impacting cloud operations, such as cross-border data transfers, data localization requirements, and government access considerations.

Jaya previously served as in-house counsel at Amazon Web Services, supporting the Network Infrastructure division across APAC and the Middle East. She began her career in M&A and capital markets, focusing on the telecommunications sector and is admitted to practice law in Singapore and New York.
