Jeff Becker is a Patent Attorney with an emphasis in complex patent litigation, with a heavy emphasis in the Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. Jeff has tried multiple cases, and he has over fifteen years of experience litigating in the Eastern District of Texas and over five years of experience litigating in the Western District of Texas. He has substantial experience as technical lead in developing his client's strategy and defenses in complex patent matters, including all aspects of pre-trial discovery, invalidity contentions, claim construction, summary judgment, and trial. Jeff regularly works with technical fact and expert witnesses on extremely technical subject matters, including the development of trial themes and the presentation of experts at trial.
Jeff also has substantial experience litigating inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), including in many matters with co-pending district court litigation. Jeff is ranked as one of the top 100 overall best performing PTAB attorneys representing petitioners before the PTAB (Patexia, 2020-2025).
Jeff has a deep knowledge of wireless and cellular standards including 3G, 4G LTE, 5G, and Wi-Fi. Jeff's practice has also involved a diverse range of other technologies, including wired and wireless telecommunications, semiconductors, electronics, software, home automation, and robotics.
Jeff also has many years of experience in patent prosecution matters, and he is experienced with providing counseling on his clients' worldwide patent portfolio development strategies.
Jeff's pro bono work focuses on litigating appellate cases on behalf of our nation's veterans before the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC) and Federal Circuit. Jeff regularly appears as lead counsel in cases before the CAVC, and he leads the firm's pro bono partnership with The Veterans Consortium, the leading national 501(c)(3) charity providing free legal services to veterans in federal venues.
While in law school, Jeff served as Associate Texas Survey Editor for the SMU Law Review.
