Schlackman joins from King & Spalding and advises developers, investors, lenders and other industry participants on complex transactions involving large-scale projects across the energy sector. His practice combines broad corporate and finance capabilities with a deep commercial understanding of how energy projects are developed, constructed, operated and maintained.

Schlackman’s recent experience includes advising JERA in connection with the joint development and final investment decision for one of the largest low-carbon ammonia production projects in the world, which will be constructed at the Blue Point Complex in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, in partnership with CF Industries and Mitsui. The transaction was named a finalist for the 2025 Financial Times Innovative Lawyers North America Awards and for the 2026 AIEN Energy Transition Initiative of the Year.
