HOUSTON, July 30, 2026 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology, and life sciences law firm, represented Western LNG and its subsidiary Ksi Lisims LNG on a long-term liquefied natural gas sale and purchase agreement between Ksi Lisims LNG and Uniper, the first major long-term LNG supply arrangement between Canada and Germany.

Under the agreement, Uniper will purchase 2 million tonnes of LNG per year from the proposed Ksi Lisims LNG project in British Columbia, Canada. The agreement has a term of up to 20 years, with initial deliveries expected in 2032. Uniper will receive the LNG on a free-on-board basis, with full destination flexibility. The agreement is also the first long-term LNG sales contract between Ksi Lisims LNG and a European utility.

Western LNG is developing Ksi Lisims LNG, in collaboration with the Nisga’a Nation, and Rockies LNG, on the northern tip of Pearse Island in British Columbia. The facility is designed to produce 12 million tonnes per year from two floating production and storage units, using hydroelectricity to power liquefaction.
