HOUSTON, May 15, 2026 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology, and life sciences law firm, represented Commonwealth LNG LLC on LNG sale and purchase agreements and related documentation supporting the positive Final Investment Decision announced today for its 9.5 Mtpa LNG liquefaction and export facility near Cameron, Louisiana.

Baker Botts advised Commonwealth LNG on LNG sales to a diversified group of global energy and industrial counterparties, including EQT, Glencore, Mercuria, PETRONAS, and Aramco Trading. 

Commonwealth LNG is the LNG export component of Caturus, LLC’s integrated natural gas and LNG platform, which pairs upstream production with Gulf Coast liquefaction and export capabilities through a wellhead-to-water strategy. The Commonwealth LNG project uses a modular construction approach designed to reduce field construction demands in Southwest Louisiana, a major center of U.S. LNG development.  Commercial operations are anticipated to begin in 2030.
