Baker Botts Advises Jordan on $700 Million Sovereign Bond Issuance
LONDON, 13 November 2025 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology, and life sciences law firm, advised the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on its seven-year $700 Million Eurobond issuance, which closed on 12 November 2025. The transaction marks Jordan’s first issuance in the international bond markets since April 2023.
The bonds priced at a coupon of 5.75%, with a yield of 5.95%, and will be listed on the London Stock Exchange’s main market. Proceeds of the bonds will be partially used to finance the Kingdom’s simultaneous tender offer for its 6.125% Notes due 2026 on which the Baker Botts team also advised.
The transaction was led by Baker Botts’ London Capital Markets team: Patrick Lyons, Jennifer Rees, and Amy Rees. The team advised on both English- and U.S.-law aspects of the deal.
This marks the fourth sovereign transaction the team has advised on since October and the fifth since the team arrived at the firm in June 2025, following conventional and Islamic issuances by the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman – reinforcing the firm’s growing role in high-profile sovereign financings.
