LONDON, 31 October 2025 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology, and life sciences law firm, served as counsel to a 10-bank syndicate on Oman Electricity Transmission Company SAOC's $750 million Green Trust Certificates due 2030. The issuance marks the first green Sukuk by an Omani company.

The trust certificates were issued under the Trust Certificate Issuance Programme of Al Jawaher Assets Company SPC structured as an Ijara (lease-based) sukuk, and the transaction closed on 29 October 2025. The offering was 2.8 times oversubscribed, and the certificates are listed on the London Stock Exchange's International Securities Market. 

Oman Electricity Transmission Company intends to use the proceeds to finance eligible green projects in accordance with its Green Financing Framework. 

Baker Botts acted as English and U.S. counsel for the Joint Lead Managers, a syndicate of 10 international and regional banks, including Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Bank ABC, Bank Muscat, Crédit Agricole, Citi, Dubai Islamic Bank, J.P. Morgan, Mashreqbank, Oman Investment Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.

The transaction is the fifth international capital markets transaction advised on by the London Capital Markets team in the past four weeks, following issuances by the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Kingdom of Bahrain, JSC Development Bank of Kazakhstan, and the Sultanate of Oman in an aggregate amount of $6.75 billion.
