Baker Botts Raises Nearly $15,000 for CAIR’s Immigration Impact Lab
WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 9, 2022 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology and life sciences law firm, is pleased to announce that it was the second-biggest contributor in the nonprofit Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights (CAIR) Coalition’s third annual Spring for Justice Campaign, which supports CAIR’s Immigration Impact Lab.
The firm raised $14,635 for the Lab, which is CAIR Coalition’s first concerted appellate impact litigation project that aims to reduce the disproportionate legal injustices detained immigrant adults and children face by expanding cutting-edge impact litigation to engender systematic change through legal precedent that benefits broad groups of immigrants.
Baker Botts’ participation in the initiative is led by partner Jeffrey Oliver and special counsel Lee Davis.
CAIR Coalition strives to ensure equal justice for all immigrant adults and children at risk of detention and deportation in the Capital region area and beyond through direct legal representation, know-your-rights presentations, impact litigation, advocacy, and the enlistment and training of attorneys to defend immigrants.
In total, the Spring for Justice Campaign raised over $115,000 for the Immigration Impact Lab.
