HOUSTON, TX – May 5, 2025 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology, and life sciences law firm, served as project development counsel to Southern Energy S.A. (SESA) in relation to its final investment decision (FID) for a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) export project in Argentina, marking a milestone in the global energy sector. 

SESA is part of a joint initiative with key industry partners—Pan American Energy, YPF, Pampa Energía, Harbour Energy and Golar LNG—to develop a transformative LNG export project. Natural gas supplied by the upstream partners will feed the FLNG facilities, enabling access to global markets and competitive international pricing.

The project is expected to enhance LNG supply to key international markets while advancing the region’s energy infrastructure.
