HOUSTON, TX – May 6, 2025 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology, and life sciences law firm, announced today that it represented Commonwealth LNG on a 20-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) sale and purchase agreement (SPA) for its 9.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) export facility under development in Cameron, Louisiana.

This SPA marks an important milestone as Commonwealth seeks to achieve a final investment decision (FID) later this year and to begin operations in late 2029.

The project is expected to bring over $11 billion in capital investment to Louisiana, support approximately 2,000 jobs during peak construction, and create about 275 permanent positions.
