Ian Roberts works on restructuring matters. His practice centers on transactions and disputes involving energy, financial, intellectual property and real estate assets.
Mr. Roberts counsels private and public companies on the many complex issues that arise in deleveraging a capital structure. He frequently advises clients on section 363 sales, cross-border restructurings and insolvency-related corporate finance and governance. Mr. Roberts has particular experience with chapter 11 plan support agreements and the purchase of distressed assets. He has represented debtors, creditors, buyers, equity groups, funds and institutional investors, governmental agencies, receivers and a labor union.
Following graduation from law school, Mr. Roberts served as a law clerk to the Honorable Hayden Head of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. In 2014-2015, Mr. Roberts served as in-house counsel for Hewlett Packard Enterprise, focusing on turn-around initiatives.
