Summary
Hannah Longley joined Baker Botts in October 2007. She has considerable experience of the energy industry both in the United Kingdom and internationally and has advised on a wide range of upstream oil and gas projects, together with a number of LNG projects and associated financing and shipping arrangements.
Ms. Longley has experience in negotiating, drafting and advising on commercial arrangements, including joint venture agreements, gas sales agreements, corporate and asset acquisitions and disposals, farm-in agreements, production sharing agreements and drilling and service contracts.
Prior to joining Baker Botts, Ms. Longley worked as in-house counsel for BG Group plc. During her time at BG, Ms. Longley was seconded to the Egyptian LNG joint venture in Cairo and has also spent time seconded to an international law firm in London.

- Major Asian energy company - advising on a bid for and subsequent acquisition of crude oil producing assets in Brazil
- US independent - advising on the acquisition of upstream interests in Kurdistan
- UK subsidiary of Major Japanese company - advising on a range of UK North Sea commercial and operational issues
- Private company - advising on upstream interests in Oman and Egypt
- UK independent – advice on the first unitization of a billion barrel-plus oil field in Ghana
- Advice on the formation of a joint venture for the evaluation and acquisition of upstream interests in West Africa
- Advice on farm-out agreement and joint operating agreement in Mozambique
- Advice on drilling and service contracts in Mozambique
- Advice on various operated and non-operated U.K. North Sea field developments, joint operating agreements and transportation and processing agreements

- Petrobras - advising on the development of a floating liquefaction project, including FEED contracts, joint venture agreements, EPC contracts and related project agreements
- Petrobras - advising on preliminary matters relating to potential gas projects
- International investment bank - advice on the purchase and supply of commissioning cargoes to a European LNG terminal
- Independent joint venture - advising on the development of customer and inter-customer agreements for a European LNG terminal
- Gazprom Marketing & Trading Ltd - advice on sale and purchase agreement to purchase LNG from the Sakhalin II Project and related agreements
- Brass LNG – advice in relation to EPC contracts for the development of a two-train LNG project in Nigeria
- Dragon LNG – advice on the development, construction, and financing of the Dragon LNG importation terminal at Milford Haven in Wales
- Egyptian LNG – acting for the joint venture companies advising on all aspects of the operation and financing of the two-train LNG project at Idku in Egypt
- Papua New Guinea LNG – member of team advising on LNG shipping matters, including shipbuilding contracts, time charter parties and related documents
- Advice on long term LNG sale and purchase agreements
- Acting for the purchaser of three new build LNG ships and negotiation of a bareboat charter facility in an amount of $500 million
- Advice on the delivery and registration of an LNG-ship under Bermudan flag
