Additional liquefaction capacity totaling c. 30MT is set to reach first production before the end of 2026, building flexibility back into a stressed global market. Nonetheless, the risk of demand destruction remains real as the LNG value proposition has been tested by another period of supply tightness. The third LNG supply wave is still expected to materialize, but the range of Middle-East peace scenarios on the table have thrown the timetable into doubt.
