Overview

David Strain is a Senior eDiscovery Project Counsel in the Baker Botts Antitrust and Competition Law Practice. In addition to antitrust, he is experienced in intellectual property and trade secrets litigation, securities and commodities enforcement, white collar litigation and international trade matters.

Mr. Strain represents and has counseled clients in complex civil litigation and criminal investigations, involving the SEC, CFTC, OFAC, DOJ and other federal and state regulatory agencies. His representation has spanned a wide variety of market sectors, including utilities, cellular communications, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, surface transportation, mining and oilfield services and financial services.

Previously, Mr. Strain was employed in the defense contracting industry as Facility Security Officer and COMSEC Custodian, where he was responsible for maintaining and implementing policies and procedures related to the handling and storage of classified material and personnel security matters. Mr. Strain has a strong understanding of the requirements set forth in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).

Mr. Strain served as a signals intelligence specialist with the U.S. Army from 1985 to 1988.
