Alison Sigurdsson is an attorney in the firm's San Francisco office. Her practice focuses on litigating high-stakes disputes in federal and state courts. She has experience managing all aspects of discovery, drafting and arguing pretrial motions and motions in limine, interviewing witnesses, taking and defending depositions, and devising key case strategy. Alison also has extensive experience advising clients facing sensitive government inquiries, helping clients investigate events internally, and reviewing and strengthening companies' compliance programs.
Alison also maintains an active pro bono practice centered on improving the lives of children and families. She has represented asylum seekers, parents finalizing adoption of a foster child, and Native American Students in a highly publicized case against the federal government seeking to obtain access to education. In 2022, she was honored by the Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area with the Father Cuchulian Moriarty Award for advancing immigrant justice.
Prior to her law firm career, Alison served as a law clerk for Judge Jane L. Kelly in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit, a law clerk for Judge Jon S. Tigar on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, and as an extern for Judge Marsha S. Berzon in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.
Alison is a proud native of the San Francisco Bay Area. Outside of her law practice, she is active in her community and serves in various non-profit leadership roles.
