Eric Schmoll is a Senior Associate in the Environmental, Safety and Incident Response group. He focuses his practice on environmental litigation and regulatory matters, with significant experience representing clients in complex environmental disputes, enforcement actions, and administrative proceedings. Eric also routinely advises clients on environmental permitting and compliance issues across a wide range of industries.

Eric has developed extensive experience with California’s unique Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (aka “Proposition 65”), including both litigating Prop 65 claims and counseling a diverse set of clients on compliance strategies. His Prop 65 work spans advising e-commerce and retail companies, manufacturers, and distributors on warning requirements, supply chain communications, and risk mitigation. Eric has also helped clients navigate Proposition 65’s evolving regulatory landscape to minimize enforcement exposure while supporting business objectives.

In addition, Eric has counseled clients in transactions involving large industrial sites and conducted thorough environmental due diligence to help assess and manage potential liabilities.

Eric previously worked on a variety of environmental matters at an international law firm. He is committed to pro bono and has experience representing immigrants before state and immigration courts.

Prior to attending law school, Eric Schmoll served four years in the United States Marine Corps as an artillery officer and later worked as a security operations agent protecting public figures and at-risk clients. His background as a Marine Corps veteran gives him a unique perspective and a strong work ethic in handling challenging and diverse legal matters.
