As a member of the Energy Regulatory section of the firm's Global Projects Practice, Johann Rupp assists clients on a wide range of electric, gas, and water regulatory matters including utility rate change and transactional approval applications, licensing proceedings and agency rulemakings. Having worked as an advising attorney at the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), Johann also draws on his in-agency experience to counsel and represent generators, developers, and other market participants before the PUCT and ERCOT.

Johann also advises clients as they develop, sell, or purchase projects and implement complex behind-the-meter (BTM) arrangements that involve generators, storage, and large loads.

Before law school, Johann served as an infantryman in the United States Army.
