Overview

Dr. Benjamin Rosen serves in the Intellectual Property practice of the firm's New York office. Benjamin’s practice is full spectrum, including patent litigation, worldwide patent prosecution, due diligence, freedom to operate and patentability opinions, and intellectual property transactions, and it spans both life sciences and other high-technology fields.

Benjamin's litigation and contested proceedings experience includes patent infringement matters, contract disputes with particular experience in breach of license and option agreements, as well as inter partes review and ex parte reexamination before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Benjamin also advises clients, including multinational conglomerates, on the transactional side of intellectual property, including and the IP aspects of corporate transactions such as company acquisitions, licensing, nondisclosure agreements, and collaboration agreements.

Representative technologies span a wide range, including small molecules, stem cells, gene editing, next generation sequencing, cancer therapeutics, and various medical devices on the life sciences side, as well as point-of-sale payment systems, button cell batteries, lithographic printing, and electrochemical devices. Benjamin has further experience with matters that intersect with artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.

Before law school, Benjamin completed his M.S. and Ph.D. at St. John's University, where he investigated the aggregation of α-synuclein protein associated with Parkinson's disease.
