Linda Martin doesn’t just litigate—she reshapes the battlefield. A strategic and accomplished trial lawyer, Linda does not default to the status quo or conventional playbooks, though she knows when they are the right tools for the job. Instead, she works first with clients to define what winning truly means for their business, then steps back to evaluate every viable path to get there—challenging assumptions and pressure points before identifying and implementing the approach that best fits the dispute, the client’s risk profile, and the larger business goal. When litigation is necessary, that path often leads to a decisive courtroom win. Other times, it means leveraging her reputation as a fearless litigator—or working deliberately behind the scenes—to neutralize a threat before it becomes a crisis. In every case, Linda is relentlessly focused on outcomes that serve the client’s business, not just the litigation.

Her ability to deliver results for the boardroom as well as in the courtroom has made Linda a trusted advisor to senior executives and business teams worldwide. She advises clients ranging from private equity sponsors and founders to fintech disruptors, consumer brands, life sciences companies, energy enterprises, and innovators operating in a variety of complex, fast moving markets. Her practice spans high stakes commercial disputes, including breach of contract, fraud and misrepresentation, fiduciary duty claims, class actions and mass torts, and other matters where business risk and litigation strategy intersect. She also regularly partners with transactional and finance teams to advise executives and boards on litigation risk, corporate governance, and deal related disputes.

Linda is particularly adept at navigating multinational legal challenges involving overlapping, and sometimes conflicting, procedural, factual, and regulatory regimes. Drawing on experience spanning jurisdictions from London to Frankfurt to Riyadh to Hong Kong to the Cayman Islands, she operates comfortably across both common law and civil law systems. Linda helps clients understand the legal landscape, assess their options, triage cross border complexity, and select the forum and approach best suited to their objectives—while preparing for contingencies wherever a dispute may arise.

Beyond her legal practice, Linda has dedicated decades to nonprofit leadership and community service. She served for 20 years on the Board of the Children’s Tumor Foundation, including as Board Chair, and has held leadership roles with the Duke Law Alumni Association and Duke University School of Law. She also takes mentorship seriously. She is the mother of three sons, and in fact began law school the same week her oldest turned one. Today she mentors other women attorneys, young lawyers and working parents as they build and navigate their own meaningful careers.
