Dr. Iflah Laraib is a Technical Advisor in the Intellectual Property practice of the firm’s New York office. Her technical expertise is in materials science, physics, and chemical engineering.

Prior to joining the firm, Iflah worked in the semiconductor industry, where she advanced thin film research for solar cell application using variety of growth and characterization techniques and introduced new processes to the production line. In her doctoral research at the University of Delaware she shed light on the origins of novel characteristics including ionic transport, photocatalysis, and magnetic ordering of prototypical complex metal oxides by implementing advanced electronic structure calculations. Iflah also spent a year at Berkeley lab as a postdoctoral researcher where she explored experimentally realizable site-selective defects in two-dimensional crystals for ultra-thin, ultra-low power electronics.

Iflah’s research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and she has given multiple talks about her work both in the US and abroad.
