Guillermo Hevia is a registered patent agent in the firm’s Intellectual Property practice. He focuses on preparing and prosecuting patent applications and developing U.S. and international patent portfolios. His experience spans software, artificial intelligence and machine learning, hardware, financial technology, authentication and security systems, automotive technology, energy, biomedical devices, and other mechanical and electromechanical systems. Guillermo works with clients ranging from emerging companies to global technology businesses to understand complex inventions and develop patent strategies aligned with their business objectives.

Guillermo earned a B.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University, where his coursework and research crossed traditional engineering disciplines, including designing control circuitry for an acoustofluidic device, giving him hands-on experience with electronics and control systems. Earlier in his career, Guillermo worked with a financial technology startup, an experience that brings a practical, product-focused perspective to his patent practice.
