Kyle Hayes represents sponsors, developers and utilities in all phases of renewable energy project development and finance, particularly in the sphere of utility-scale solar, wind, renewable fuels and carbon capture facilities. Mr. Hayes has experience in sponsor-side representation in tax equity transactions as well as that of preferred equity investors in renewable project financings. He also has experience in both single asset and portfolio-based acquisitions and divestitures, including those involving solar, wind, renewable natural gas assets and conventional power facilities. His clients principally include domestic and foreign investment banks, renewable project developers and private equity firms, among others.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Hayes served as in-house counsel to one of the largest investor-owned utilities in the U.S., where he handled various regulatory and commercial matters with respect to both wholesale and retail energy markets. Mr. Hayes began his legal career at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Mr. Hayes currently serves as a member of Dynamo Energy Hub's Board of Advisors.
