Alexander Currie has 30 years' experience acting on the development of projects, project financing, acquisitions and disposals of energy and natural resource assets, and restructuring troubled projects.

Alexander's sector experience includes a wide range of oil and gas, mining, and power assets.

Alexander relocated from London to Riyadh in 2023.

  • Air Products Qudra (APQ) in relation to the sale of a 50% interest in Blue Hydrogen Industrial Gases Company to Saudi Aramco and hydrogen and nitrogen offtake contracts
  • The shareholders on the restructuring of a $1 billion Saudi Arabian industrial project
  • Marubeni, JGC and Al-Jomaih on a joint venture with Saudi Aramco to develop three co-generation projects at Ras Tanura, Abqaiq and Hawiyah, financed by U.S. Exim, commercial banks and Islamic banks (winner IJ Global Middle East Power Deal of the Year)
  • Nord Stream 2 A.G. on the €9.9 billion Nord Stream 2 sub-sea pipeline project through Russia, Finnish, Swedish, Danish and German territories
  • CNPC and CNOOC on the €11billion project financing of the €22 billion Arctic 2 LNG project with financing from CDB, CExim, VEB, Exiar, JBIC, Nexi, Euler Hermes, SACE

  • Epic Energy (Australia) Limited on its $2.4 billion acquisition of the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline.
  • BP on the US$1.6 billion sale of its interests in Kazakhstan's Tengiz oil field and the CPC Pipeline to Lukoil
  • Gazprom Neft on its £7.9 billion acquisition of a majority control in Sibir Energy Plc, the UK-listed oil company operating in Russia
  • EdF on its acquisitions of the Cottam power station from PowerGen and West Burton power station from TXU Europe for a combined £1.2 billion
