Overview

Lindsay Buchanan is a trial attorney who represents clients in a variety of complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts. She has worked with a broad range of clients in disputes involving industrial accidents and crises, toxic tort claims, fraud litigation, business torts, and significant personal injury and property damage claims.

Lindsay has represented clients in all stages of litigation, including pre-litigation claim assessment and strategy, discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation.

Prior to joining Baker Botts, Ms. Buchanan was a litigator at a boutique firm in Washington D.C., where she defended financial services clients in actions brought under various federal and state consumer protection statutes - including the False Claims Act and TCPA - and in other complex commercial disputes. Ms. Buchanan was named by Super Lawyers (Thomson Reuters) as a "Rising Star" in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

Ms. Buchanan earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2017. At Georgetown, she served as Communications Editor of the Georgetown Law Journal and Career Co-Chair of the Black Law Students Association. During her time as a student attorney for the Institute for Public Representation, she represented a national organization for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals on various matters before the Federal Communications Commission.

Prior to law school, Ms. Buchanan worked as a communications fellow in the U.S. House of Representatives. She graduated summa cum laude from Howard University in 2014 with a B.A. in Journalism.
