For 20+ years, Cathy Brandt has been handling legal matters in state and federal courts involving contract, fiduciary duty, legal malpractice, fraud, real estate, insurance, securities, and DTPA matters with experience to:
- Analyze and research complex legal issues
- Draft documents, including opinions, trial and appellate briefs, motions, pleadings, and discovery
- Handle depositions, court hearings, and injunction proceedings
- Try complex cases
- Argue appeals including two cases before the Supreme Court of Texas
Cathy tried cases to jury verdict and on appeal in state and federal court, including two cases before the Supreme Court of Texas, one of which involved an issue of first impression in Texas--the enforceability of an arbitration clause in a trust agreement.
After completing her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University, Cathy graduated summa cum laude from South Texas College of Law and ranked second in her class. She has put her experience to work in the Dallas community at large by serving in top leadership roles with the Heart of Dallas Chapter of the National Charity League, the Music Guild Board of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, parent organizations at several schools, and her home owners association.
