Overview

Ali Attaran primarily focuses on patent preparation and prosecution and, over the past six years, has represented numerous Fortune 100 technology companies in obtaining patent protection across a broad range of technologies.

Ali's experience includes wireless communications (4G, 5G, O-RAN, cellular network and multi-tenant infrastructure), artificial intelligence, semiconductor devices, non-volatile memory technologies, and cloud computing.

Prior to joining Baker Botts, Ali served as a Scientific Advisor for two years at a national law firm, where he prepared and prosecuted patent applications for leading technology companies. Before his legal career, he worked as an ASIC Engineer at Western Digital for two years and as a Research Scientist at San Francisco State University for four years, where he participated in DARPA-funded research involving programmable logic and non-volatile memory technologies.

Ali is the inventor of nine issued U.S. patents and has authored more than thirty journal and conference publications.
