John Anaipakos is a veteran trial lawyer for businesses in high stakes litigation. Mr. Anaipakos regularly represents and advises clients in disputes across a wide variety of industries including energy, retail, and professional services, among others. In the energy industry, his deep experience includes the representation of oil and gas and utility clients for over 25 years.

He has tried a broad range of cases to juries, including complex business disputes, oil and gas, wrongful death/catastrophic injury, accounting malpractice and employment. In addition to his jury trial work, Mr. Anaipakos has also tried numerous cases to judges, administrative tribunals and arbitration panels, as well as argued appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, Supreme Court of Texas, and various intermediate appellate courts.

Mr. Anaipakos previously served as head of the litigation department in Houston and as hiring partner for the Houston office. He joined Baker Botts in 1994 after a one-year clerkship with Judge Edith Jones of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Mr. Anaipakos received his law degree cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1993, where he was an editor on the Harvard Law Review. A native of El Paso, Mr. Anaipakos is fluent in Spanish.

Mr. Anaipakos is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
