Baker Botts Advises on Three Sovereign Note Issuances by the Arab Republic of Egypt Under its U.S.$40 Billion GMTN Programme

LONDON, 5 May 2026 – Baker Botts L.L.P. has advised the Arab Republic of Egypt on its U.S.$1 billion multi-tranche sovereign note issuances under its U.S.$40 billion Global Medium Term Note Programme. 

The issuances, executed across March and April 2026, comprised three tranches:

  • U.S.$500 million 9.450% Notes due 2033, to be consolidated with the existing U.S.$750 million 2033 Notes
  • U.S.$250 million 7.6003% Notes due 2029, to be consolidated with the existing U.S.$1.75 billion 2029 Notes
  • U.S.$250 million 8.625% Notes due 2030, to be consolidated with the existing U.S.$1.25 billion 2030 Notes
