Real Estate Development

Real estate development is at the core of what we do.  We believe the collective development experience of our Real Estate Practice Group and supporting practices, particularly for large, complex projects, distinguishes us from real estate practices at other law firms.  We have represented clients in their development activities throughout the entire United States and internationally for decades. We have worked on the development of many landmark buildings across the country and on major international development projects.

We have extensive experience in all aspects of real estate development for all commercial real estate product types, including office, multi-family, retail, light industrial and mixed-use developments.  Our development experience extends beyond “core” commercial real estate, as we have experience in petrochemical, power, steel pipe, automobile and other industrial developments.

Our practice covers all aspects of  development, from securing state and local tax incentives, site acquisition, fund formation or joint venture formation with institutional  investors, land owners and other parties (often with venture partners at multiple tiers of ownership), construction financing, mezzanine financing, creation of easements and declarations of covenants, conditions and restrictions, development management agreements, property management agreements, construction contracts, architects and engineering agreements and leasing.
