Mark Spivak is a partner in the Global Projects Practice in the Washington office. His practice focuses primarily on project development and project finance in the power generation (including renewable energy), electric energy transmission, oil and gas, LNG, pipeline and transportation industries. His clients include sponsors, developers, private equity firms and other investors engaged in the development and financing of infrastructure projects.
Mr. Spivak has represented clients in transactions worldwide, including North America, South America, Central America, Eastern and Western Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Recognized for his experience in Projects and Project Finance, Mr. Spivak has received favorable rankings and ratings from numerous publications, including Chambers Global (2010-2018), Chambers USA (2005-2017), Legal 500 (2009-2014, 2016), Latin Lawyer (2014-2016), Who's Who Legal (2012-2016), and Best Lawyers in America (2003-2018, 2020).
Mr. Spivak received his law degree in 1983 from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was Editor of The Tax Lawyer. He received his BA in 1980 from Muhlenberg College. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and has served as adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center, teaching a course in Project Development and Finance.
