Kevin Sadler is an experienced jury trial and appellate lawyer who has represented major technology, energy, and service firms in the defense of tort, contract, statutory and intellectual property claims. He also assists clients who are called upon to respond to civil investigations by state and federal agencies. Mr. Sadler currently serves as co-chair of the firm's Commercial Litigation Practice.
Mr. Sadler has tried numerous cases in both state and federal courts, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. As an appellate advocate, he has presented oral argument to state and federal courts of appeal in over 25 cases, covering a wide variety of state and federal law issues.
Since 2009, Mr. Sadler has served as lead trial and appellate counsel for the Receiver appointed by a federal court to take over the Stanford Financial Group, a worldwide financial services network that operated as one of the largest financial frauds in U.S. history. In 2023, Mr. Sadler secured settlements of over $1.6 billion from a group of defendants that provided banking services to Stanford, bringing total litigation recoveries for the Receivership to over $2.7 billion. Prior to his work for the Stanford Receivership, Mr. Sadler successfully represented a debtor in a bankruptcy court trial of claims that resulted in one of the largest judgements in the history of the bankruptcy code - over $7 billion. Since 2018, Mr. Sadler also has served as lead counsel for a pharmaceutical manufacturer involved in nation-wide federal and state court litigation.
Following graduation from law school, Mr. Sadler served as a briefing attorney to the Honorable Paul Brown of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
