Dan has spent more than a decade working in UK 'magic circle' law and 'Big 4' consulting firms advising some of the worlds most prominent financial services firms on all aspects of their UK and Middle Eastern regulatory obligations. Clients have come from both commercial and retail sectors.
In recent years, Dan has developed a specialty advising payment services firms and other FinTechs. His work has included advice to the UK Open Banking implementation body, the development of a digital only retail bank for a U.S. headquartered global bank and preparing the regulatory licence application from one of the world's leading global payment services providers.
Dan's clients have come from the full spectrum of financial services firms and include: global retail and investment banks; asset managers; E-money issuers and payments services providers; crypto-asset issuers, wallets and exchanges; and a range of other FinTech firms.
Dan's work covers the full life-cycle of financial services firms from perimeter guidance to determine whether the firm's products or services are the subject of FS regulation, assistance in obtaining a regulatory licence, interpretation of applicable regulations and implementation guidance through to M&A regulatory due diligence and skilled person's reports in the event of regulatory investigation.
