Sofia Doudountsaki is based in Brussels and advises on all aspects of EU competition law, including EU and cross-border merger control, abuse of dominance, cartel investigations, and antitrust compliance issues. She has experience on various business sectors, including energy, oil & gas, infrastructure, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, media, and financial services.
Prior to joining Baker Botts, Ms. Doudountsaki worked in the Brussels office of another international law firm and as a Law Clerk (“Référendaire”) at the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg.
She speaks English, French and Greek.

- Represented major energy, pharmaceutical and chemicals companies in multijurisdictional filings and advised in potential acquisition opportunities.
- Advised regularly clients on antitrust issues arising from the application of art. 101 and 102 TFEU, including on the EU rules on vertical restraints.
- Advised on foreign investment screening and represented several clients in foreign investment filings in major jurisdictions.
- Represented pro bono clients in matters related to immigration and refugee law. Participated in Project Innocence (review of death penalty cases in the U.S.).
- Represented ALSTOM in its acquisition by General Electric - filings before the European Commission (Phase II merger Investigation).*
