Be The Good Project to Distribute $25,000 in Gift Cards & 1,300 Care Packages to 26 Schools

Release

WASHINGTON, D.C., December 6, 2021 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology and life sciences law firm, is pleased to announce that the Be The Good Project, a non-profit started by partner Sterling Marchand and his family in June 2020, plans to distribute more than $25,000 in gift cards and 1,300 care packages to 26 schools during the holiday season.

Each bag, prepared by volunteers, has roughly 18 pounds of non-perishable food. The bags are dropped off at the Marchand’s home where they add donated kitchen utensils and $20 grocery gift cards sponsored by corporate partners like Baker Botts.

Be The Good Project initiatives go beyond just holiday season gift-giving. Each week, volunteers stock Little Free Food Pantries across the D.C., Maryland and Virginia metro area and make hundreds of sandwiches that are delivered to Martha’s Table for distribution to the homeless.

By the end of 2021, the Be The Good Project will have donated approximately 70,000 pounds of food, 2,600 individual care packages, 23 Little Free Food Pantries, 75,000+ sandwiches and $36,000+ in grocery gift cards.
