Baker Botts Welcomes Financial Restructuring Partner in New York

NEW YORK, November 15, 2021 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology and life sciences law firm, announced today that Scott Bowling has joined its New York office as a partner in the Financial Restructuring practice.

Bowling’s practice encompasses domestic and cross-border corporate restructurings, distressed financings and acquisitions, credit and equity investments, liability management transactions, crisis management and other special situations. He represents debtors, creditors, investors and other parties in complex Chapter 11 cases and other distressed and special situations in the energy, retail, technology, media, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, industrial and gaming industries.

Bowling joins Baker Botts from Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP in New York, where he served most recently as counsel in the Restructuring Department. His 10-plus-year tenure at Weil included such representations as EP Energy Corporation, CEC Entertainment (Chuck E. Cheese), Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. and SoftBank, as well as a one-year secondment to private investment firm Centerbridge Partners, L.P.

Bowling received his J.D. from New York University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude, and his B.A. from the University of Michigan.
