PALO ALTO, October 26, 2021 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international law firm, has been named a Top Performer by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), which has recognized those law firms and corporations showing a strong commitment to building more diverse organizations and a more inclusive legal profession.

The Top Performer award recognizes those organizations in the top 20 percent for participation in LCLD programs and activities. Baker Botts Managing Partner John Martin is an LCLD Member.

Earlier this year, Baker Botts was recognized by Diversity Lab as Mansfield “Certified Plus” for the third year in a row. Among other things, the “Certified Plus” status signifies that the firm not only considered at least 30% women, people of color, LGBTQ and disabled lawyers for leadership positions and in lateral recruiting over the last year, but also achieved representation of at least 30% women and diverse lawyers in several key areas – including significant leadership roles, inclusion in formal pitches, lateral recruitment, and equity partner promotions and representation. This year, in addition to requiring formal pitch teams to comprise at least 30% diverse lawyers, successful pitches must have resulted in at least 30% diverse lawyers doing the actual work.
