Baker Botts Adds to London Office with Leading Power and Renewables Partner
LONDON, April 21, 2021 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology and life sciences law firm, today announced that Shashank Krishna has joined the firm’s Global Projects Department as a partner. He will be based in the London office, acting for clients with a focus on Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
“The arrival of Shashank strengthens the firm’s power and renewables capabilities. As we continue to scale up in London, Shashank will provide depth and breadth to our energy and emerging markets practices, where he has significant client experience,” said John Martin, Managing Partner of Baker Botts.
“Shashank’s diverse international experience gives him a unique perspective and skillset that will enhance our client offering between our London and Middle East offices. Our London office is at a very exciting stage of growth, and I am delighted that Shashank has joined the firm to help accelerate our plans even further,” said Mark Rowley, Partner-in-Charge of London and the Middle East at Baker Botts.
Mr. Krishna’s practice is focused on M&A, joint ventures and project development and financing involving complex and high-value energy and infrastructure projects across the value chain. He has deep experience in a range of industries including power, energy transition, oil & gas, LNG, refining and petrochemicals, infrastructure and commodities. In the power sector, he has advised in connection with independent power projects (IPPs) having an aggregate capacity of nearly 28,000MW.
“The strength, depth, reputation and global coverage of Baker Botts’ energy practice is a huge attraction for me. I am excited to be able to leverage my network in the energy industry and service my existing and future clients with Baker Botts’ international energy platform,” said Mr. Krishna.
