HOUSTON, February 24, 2021 – Lawyers from Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology and life sciences law firm, have teamed together on a pro bono basis to publish the “Winter Storm Uri Consumer Resource Guide.” The publication, which can be accessed here, provides an array of information and tools to help individuals in Texas affected by the disaster and financial hardship from the recent storm.

The Guide is divided into six sections: Insurance; Renters’ Rights; Home Repairs and Avoiding Fraud; Price Gouging; Avoiding Scams; and Disaster Declaration & FEMA Relief. The Guide provides Texans with a variety of useful resources researched by Baker Botts lawyers as well as materials adapted from Lone Star Legal Aid, the Texas Department of Insurance, the CDC, Houston Bar Association and the Attorney General of Texas.
