Baker Botts Names New Partner-in-Charge of Dallas Office

DALLAS, January 21, 2021 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international law firm, has announced that Luke Weedon will succeed Tim Durst as Partner-in-Charge of the Dallas office.

Mr. Weedon, a Chambers-ranked finance lawyer who has spent his entire 20-year career at Baker Botts, has served as the firm’s Finance Section Chair since 2017, contributing to the group’s success and intake of substantial new clients and matters. In his own practice, he represents institutional investors and a range of clients in the energy, technology and manufacturing industries. Mr. Weedon devotes a significant part of his practice to private placements of debt securities and secured and unsecured syndicated bank financings, including the representation of agent lenders and borrowers in connection with working capital facilities, acquisition financings, bridge loans, asset-based loans, first lien/second lien financings, letter of credit facilities and project financings.

Mr. Durst is a Chambers-ranked first-chair trial lawyer with years of courtroom experience handling complex and high-stakes disputes. He has an active national a trial practice, having taken a wide range of cases to trial in Texas and on both coasts and handling litigation in more than 20 different states. His leadership will continue, including as a chair of the firmwide strategic initiative for disputes practices.
