Baker Botts Announces Jennifer Wu as 2021 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellow

Release

AUSTIN, January 27, 2021 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international law firm, today announced that Jennifer Wu, a senior associate in the Corporate Department, has been selected for the 2021 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellows Program, an initiative to develop the next generation of leaders in the legal profession.

Ms. Wu represents reporting companies and investment banking firms in public offerings and private placements of equity and debt securities and advises both public and private companies in a wide variety of corporate and securities matters, including federal securities law compliance and ongoing corporate governance.  A 2008 graduate from Rice University, she earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2012 and joined the firm initially as a summer associate. In addition to her legal practice, she serves the firm as Deputy Chair of the Asian Pacific American Affinity Group, Associate Liaison for the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Associate Liaison for the Global Women’s Forum and, most recently, Co-Chair of the Austin office’s 2020 United Way Campaign. Outside of the firm, she serves on the Women United Executive Committee for the United Way and on the Nominating Committee of The Junior League of Austin. She was also selected to the Super Lawyers list of “Texas Rising Stars” for 2019, 2020, and 2021.

“I am proud of Jennifer, her service to the firm and our clients, and her dedication to her community,” said Baker Botts’ Managing Partner John Martin, a Member of LCLD. “We have long been committed to diversity and inclusion at Baker Botts, and our profession benefits from developing young leaders like Jennifer who enable us to be more creative, effective, and successful for our clients.”

Founded in 2009, LCLD is a growing organization of more than 350 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are personally committed to building a more open and diverse legal profession.
